I was so looking forward to seeing the elephants and giraffes, taking cute pictures, and relaxing as we peel back layers of defenses and coping mechanisms to see more of their true selves.
We’ve now been parents for 5 days. They’ve been full of puke, diarrhea, hospitals, hotels, airplanes, and figuring out who these two littles are, because each day is different than the day before.
Today I felt like I got my first real taste of what it’s like to parent twin toddlers. I know, you’re probably thinking, “What?! But you’ve had those kids for 4 days, you’re basically a veteran by now!”
Praise the Lord, we had a much better day today! Thank you all for lifting up our girls and our family over the last few days. We got off to a rough start, but today was an improvement.

Thanks for praying us through our travel days! We did have a 2 hour delay leaving Ethiopia, but that was the only hiccup and it wasn’t a big deal. Here are our prayer requests at the moment.
We’d so appreciate it if you would pray for us during our trip. While we’d like to envision a perfect, smooth, happy, smiling, Norman Rockwell type week, we are not kidding ourselves.
I read a quote recently that said, “All great changes are preceded by chaos”. I’m not sure who said it or where I read it, but I think it sums up our current state pretty well.
It’s been nearly 2 years since we started the adoption process, and today, with joyful and grateful hearts, we can finally say that we have booked our plane tickets!
