Welcome to Haiti!
The immediate impression I have of Haiti is this: HOT. Y’all…this heat don’t play. We were all sopping wet with sweat soaking through our clothes and all we did was walk to the van from the airport terminal. It feels worse than summer in Alabama. I don’t know if that’s because it’s actually hotter or if it’s just the lack of air conditioning so there is no respite from the heat. Either way, it’s hot.
Our guest house is pretty sweet, and I’m so thankful we have wifi. (For a while there it looked like we wouldn’t.) We just finished eating an AMAZING dinner of chicken, beans, and rice. It was REALLY good!
For the rest of the evening we will just be spending time as a team getting to know one another and preparing for our week in ministry. Tomorrow we will go to church and then see a little of the city. We might also do a couple home visits, but we aren’t sure just yet. Please continue to pray for our team to grow together in unity and to represent Christ well in all that we do. Thanks so much!
