He Is Risen!
I just wanted to take a moment to say HALLELUJAH! CHRIST IS RISEN! I hope that you are having a wonderful Resurrection Sunday. I don’t know where you are right now, but here in Alabama it’s a gorgeous, sunny day. The flowers are blooming and the air is fresh with Spring. But no matter where you are or what the weather is like, it’s a great day to be alive! Our Savior is not dead. He conquered the grave so that we could have eternal life. Whoa. Now that’s love.
Blake and I have been overwhelmed with the response for our trip to Africa. We knew that God would bless this endeavor, and He’s certainly coming through. We’ve been really surprised at the incredible number of people who are willing to donate and serve as prayer warriors for us. Everywhere we go, people are excited to hear about this mission trip and its progress. They share in our joy and our excitement and give us continual encouragement. Honestly, this alone is more than what we expected. We of course knew our family and close friends would react this way, but people we barely know or don’t know at all are offering their prayers, their money, and their sweet words. This just goes to show that it’s not about us. Brothers and sisters in Christ are united in His work to serve the orphans of Ethiopia and Rwanda, not just to send Lindsay and Blake on a cool trip. This is humbling to us because we realize that we are just a small part in God’s plan, and we are so honored to be used for HIS glory.
Along the lines of people being so generous and willing to serve, take a look at our fundraising thermometer on the right! We are over halfway to our goal!! Thank you so much to those of you that have donated. We are so incredibly blessed by these people God has placed in our lives. We only need $2610 more to reach our goal of $7400! And by the way, if there is any additional money that is raised, it goes into buying materials for crafts, baby formula, toys, and other supplies that we’ll be taking to Africa.
Since today is Easter, I thought I’d share a song with you. I know the Gaither Vocal Band is kind of “old school” but seriously David Phelps is like the greatest tenor on the planet. Enjoy!
